Year 6 Transition to Highschool 2018

The Term 4 Transition program for Year 6 begins on Tuesday 4th December with Orientation Day at the high school. We will then be at the school from Wednesday 5th December through to Friday 7th December. Children are to meet Mrs Walsh at the hall steps at the high school at 8:45am each day to have the roll marked and will be picked up at 3:30pm at the hall steps. Please note: Tuesday the finishing time is 2:40pm. If your child is to walk home with a sibling please let Mrs Walsh know.

The behaviour expectations during this week are to: represent our school by displaying the school values of respect, responsibility and homesty. Any child who is making poor choices and not behaving in an appropriate way will have their invitation to be at the high school for the week removed. This will mean that they will spend the remainder of the week at Burke Ward school. The children have had this expectation clearly explained to them and I am sure it will be a positive, rewarding experience for all involved.

The children will be moving to different classrooms and lessons during their time at the high school and will need to have their bag packed with necessary equipment to take part in all activities. Mrs Walsh will be at the high school with the students for the week to support and guide the students as they become more familiar with their new school.
