Easter Hat Parade

Easter Hat Parade

You are invited to attend Burke Ward Public School's Easter Hat Parade on Thursday 6 April at 12:30pm.

For this parade, students will wear their uniform (red shirt, shorts and joggers). Each student in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 is asked to bring along a hat, decorated with an Easter theme, to wear on the day as they will be parading and performing for the community on the day.

When designing your child’s hat, please be mindful of the fact they need to walk, sing and dance in it. We also ask to please remember that chocolate eggs are often picked off and eaten well before the parade. They also have the tendency to melt during the walk.

Students in years 3-6 will be invited to parade with a hat if they wish. Younger siblings, not yet at school, are also encouraged to parade.

Parents are asked to gather in the playground, under the shade shelter. Students will parade around the playground before they line up on the steps in front of the shade shelter to start their performance. There will be chairs set up for parents to watch and listen while the students in K-2 sing several Easter songs.

The P&C will be running a BBQ selling sausages, we are hoping that many parents and friends will stay and enjoy a sausage with their children for recess after the parade.
